Climb the amazing 600-foot limestone rock formation of the Dunn’s River Falls as water cascades past you and splashes into the ocean below. You can also relax in the small pools of water along the way, making for a refreshing and unique experience. Dunn’s River Falls is one of Jamaica’s most beloved natural attractions and is known for its lush setting. The area is often referred to as a living phenomenon due to it being continuously rebuilt from sodium and calcium carbonate deposits in the river. Dunn’s River Falls is also one of the only waterfalls on earth that empty straight into the ocean. After you arrive, you will listen to a brief introduction from your guide, before then enjoying 2 hours of free time to experience the falls however you wish. You can put on non-slip water shoes (available for rental if you don’t bring your own) to climb up the 600-foot (180-meter) terraced falls, carefully walking up the “steps” formed by the naturally chiseled rocks. You can also stop along the way to swim in one of the small pools that have formed on the different levels, and as you reach the top, you will be rewarded with a great view. If you’d rather relax, you can hang out on the deck located near the river to admire the falls or go swimming in the natural lagoon at the bottom. When your time at the falls is up, you can head to a nearby restaurant for a 1-hour lunch break.
